Q&A -

Louise -

Doesn't rice cause inflammation?

My Reply to Louise -

No - not at all...The only thing that causes inflammation is the sick food that American/Western world feeds dogs called as kibble and full of meat based diet..

My dogs all eat brown rice and they are the healthiest dogs ever - grains are good for dogs and help prevent CDM in dogs as well...! Hope this answers your question! -Somyata

Hi Somyata, thank you for your content. I was wondering if you feed your dogs exclusively a vegan diet, and if so, how do you balance the nutrients?

Hello Nicole - Thank you for the compliment. I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying the content.

What a wonderful question! Yes - I feed my dogs vegan diet and that too, 100% home-cooked. All of the items that they eat are the same ones that I get for myself - from the same grocery isles and produce area..just the way its meant to be. There is really no 'dog food' vs. 'human food' - this is a SICK and GREEDY American construct to keep dogs sick, dog owners victims of the greedy vets and the pharma...

How do I balance the nutrients? - So, for protein, I use lentils and sometimes quinoa and beans like boiled red kidney beans and chickpeas..but lentils are daily deal in my home for the dogs. They are far superior than meat source as they are super digestible so easy on the dog's tummy, healthy for kidneys and unlike meat, they do not contain toxic waste of another animal nor any unhealthy toxic fats...

Fiber - Easy! Fruits and bunch of veggies! Real antioxidants, vitamins and minerals - all from Nature and not from tablets or supplements. Plus, dogs love fresh homecooked veggies...and little bit of diff. fruits provide enzymes, etc.

Carbs/Grains - Brown rice. Dogs have eaten grains since centuries and all that the grain-free kibble is doing is creating heart disease in dogs..so I give my dogs brown rice and oats daily...along with the above items mentioned.

Healthy Fats - Super important! Organic UNrefined coconut oil, EVOO, hemp oil are a must for all dogs!

I hope this answers your questions! Dogs should be given a varied colorful diet - full rainbow (from the produce isle/farmer's market) and you will never need a vet! Even then, when problems occur or they get sick, you will notice they will bounce back faster than dogs on kibble and vet's prescriptions. -Somyata

we eat alot of lentils brown, orange and such. sometimes I put in a tablespoon in my dogs food but thought they need to eat meat. majority of his food is vegetable and a bit of chicken or ground beef. so I really do not need to give him a meat source? will his cataracts get better or clear if I just give him no meats and stick to how you feed your dogs only vegetables with beans or lentils? I'm willing to do anything to cure his eyes.

Hello Lisa - I cannot say that via my recipes or via any other diet your dog's cataracts will improve...they may or they may not but only thing I can tell you is that by feeding my recipes and a diet rich in colorful vegetables your dog will be very healthy overall. I hope this explains! -Somyata.
