Turkey tail mushroom has gained a lot of popularity for cancer prevention and healing for dogs. This article details all the benefits, dosage, etc.
This year commit to going more of plant-based when it comes to your dog's diet as well as supplements and extra additions like essential oils and so on. Not only is plan-based diet anti-inflammatory but it is rich in plant compounds, antioxidants, polyphenols, etc. that are excellent at preventing and/or healing cancers in humans and dogs alike.

One such miracle food from the plant kingdom is the Turkey tail mushroom. Turkey tail mushroom is one mushroom that has gained a lot of popularity and attention - whether from a greedy vet sponsored by the life sucking pharma or whether it is an integrative doctor or a holistic healer like myself.

Those of us like myself who are truly committed to healing dogs are excited to use turkey tail in hopes of preventing or reducing cancer rates in dogs. Turkey tail mushroom has many benefits and in this article we will go over them so that you too can start this amazing supplement for your dog.

On that note, this year I would like to start all of my lovely TGP doggie parents on turkey tail mushroom and here are the reasons why -

Turkey Tail Mushroom Benefits for Dogs -

-turkey tail mushroom is considered THE mushroom for dogs as it is super tasty and dogs just love the taste of it thus making it easy to give to them and they take it without any fuss

-turkey tail is known for its immune-boosting properties and is a great addition to your dog's diet for preventing or healing diseases like cancer or any illness where the dog is immuno-compromised.

-turkey tail mushroom can greatly assist dogs who are undergoing chemo or radiation or those who have cancer and are on a holistic protocol

-turkey tail mushroom has been studied and proven for delaying metastasis (spread of cancer) in hemangiosarcoma in dogs as well as improved survival times

-turkey tail is also used for increasing energy, boosting vitality, clearing respiratory tract and for reducing overall inflammation in dog's body

-turkey tail is rich in prebiotics and can help prevent yeast infections in dogs.

-turkey tail will also boost your dog's digestive system and help with urinary tract health.

-turkey tail is excellent for senior dogs who lack energy and vitality or those who suffer from conditions like arthritis or any other inflammatory disease

When Buying -

-Buy one that says 'fruiting body' and includes good amount of mycelium and polysaccharides (especially beta glucans), possibly freeze dried

-If buying liquid extract, look for one with vegetable glycerin rather than alcohol

-If buying powder form, avoid plastic containers at all costs. Buy from brands that sell the powders in resealable bags. In fact, most high quality, organic brands sell in resealable bags only - not in plastic containers.

How to Give & Dosage -

The most effective method is to make a paste with warm water and then add this to your dog's food bowl.

You can also make it into a tea and add a spoonful or two to your dog's bowl or serve as-is if your dog will drink it up like that.

My dogs eat 100% homecooked diet which already has some moisture due to water content so I just mix some powder with the food and some pumpkin puree.

As for the dosage, it will be determined based on the supplement you will buy and its potency.

But just to help you more, I will share what I give to my dogs -

-for very small ones like under 10 lbs., you can give 1/4th of a teaspoon

-for medium size dogs, 1/3rd of a teaspoon is enough

-for large dogs, 1/2 teaspoon to more is perfectly fine.

If your dog has cancer, then your dog will need a higher dosage so adjust accordingly to his or her condition, severity and the potency of the turkey tail powder you bought.

Start with less at first to make sure your dog is not allergic to mushrooms and also to allow time for your dog's digestion to adjust

So, this is one change I encourage you to start right away for your dog!

Super healthy, super tasty, dogs love it and it can help prevent and even heal cancer!
