Epsom salt baths are a great way to support your dog's joints & prevent joint aches. Find out all the benefits and how to give Epsom salt baths to your dog.
It's time for what we call as the Vata season in Ayurveda - cool, dry, windy and erratic and at this time of the year, many dogs start experiencing aches and pains, especially senior dogs or dogs with already some joint issues like arthritis, aches and pains or underlying inflammation issues.

When we look at solutions to health problems for our furry pals, it is always best to consider 100% natural, safe and effective solutions and this is why I believe so much ONLY in holistic health for my dogs - it is good for them and has only the 'side-benefits' as opposed to a long list of side-effects that come with conventional medicine.

So, here we talk about a brilliant and super effective solution (and highly affordable and easy to find) for your dog when colder months hit or just anytime your dog has joint aches, etc.

One of the things you can do is give your dog Epsom salt baths. Epsom salt offers many benefits for dogs and can be used safely in the comfort of your home to soothe your dog's aches and pains.

Epsom Salt & It's Benefits for Dogs -

-Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate and it is used to relax the muscles, take out the soreness and promote deep relaxation within the body.

-Epsom salt baths can also help soothe itchy, irritated skin and may help heal hot spots in dogs.

-Epsom salt baths can help speed up wound healing and also help keep your dog's paws healthy and free of infections and dryness.

How To Give Epsom Salt Baths to Your Dog -

Simply fill the tub or small bucket with warm water and add little bit of Epsom salt to it (about 1 cup per gallon is recommended).

Let your dog's body or just feet or legs soak in it for good 10-15 minutes. Rinse your dog with clean water.

Notes -

-Do NOT use Epsom salt baths on puppies or pregnant dogs.

-Make sure that your dog does not ingest the Epsom salt bath water.

-Use plain Epsom salt only and not the one that is scented.

-Do not give Epsom salt bath to your dog if he or she has severe skin issues or open wounds.
