Burdock Root Benefits for Dogs
Burdock root is highly revered in Japanese culture & offers many benefits for dogs - from liver cleansing to digestive health and more. Find out in this article.
Today I want to talk about one of the things I give to my dogs on a daily basis and I often share them with you so that it can help your dog live a healthy life because vets do not know most of these things and even if they know, they will not share it since they don't make money by sharing the Truth.

You are welcome..:)

So, one of the things that I want to talk about today is an excellent supplement that is very revered in Chinese and Japanese culture for its cleansing properties and one that can really help your dog with skin issues, liver and kidney detox as well as the digestive health.

How many dogs in America or should I say, in the Western world, suffer from digestive issues and thus have overburdened liver and kidney issues and then this manifests into skin issues?

Being fed the crappiest diet of kibble, the amazing 'preventive' called as the 'heartworm preventive' and then add to it the commercial treats, vaccinations and the any other veterinarian prescriptions and you have a disaster for the dog - poor dog!

So here is one more thing you can use and this should help your dog feel better with the issues listed above.

The herb I'm talking about today is the burdock root - actually it is a common weed that has been used since centuries for liver and skin cleansing.

Burdock root is full of antioxidants, fiber, nutrients like calcium, iron, selenium, B vitamins, phosphorus and many more and even contains inulin which is the prebiotic that feeds the good gut bacteria needed for the healthy digestion in your dog's body. This way burdock root can help boost your dog's immunity and keep him healthy for a long time.

Burdock root is also great at boosting blood circulation so this is great news for dogs who have heart issues or who tend to get tired or fatigued very fast or who have some lethargy or joint issues because at the root of it is poor blood circulation.

Burdock root also supports cleansing of liver and kidneys along with the lymphatic system which in turn can help your dog immensely if he or she suffers from skin issues like bad doggie odor, redness, itching, inflamed skin, doggy acne and so on.

Burdock root is also a diuretic which means it helps in flushing out toxins and waste material from the kidneys and the bladder which in turn means that it helps in keeping your dog's body and internal organs clean and in optimal state.

One of the greatest qualities of burdock root is that it supports fat metabolism - this is excellent information especially for dogs who have fatty tumors or lymphomas or just tend to hold on to that excess fat and are obese.

So think of adding little bit of burdock root to your dog's meals as this can greatly help prevent tumors or help with lethargy and obesity.

Dosage -

For small dogs - start with 1/4 or 1/5 teaspoon of Burdock root powder twice a day

For medium dogs - 1/3 to 1/2 of a small teaspoon twice a day

For large dogs - half teaspoon to slightly more depending on size and weight can be given twice daily

Note -

-Do NOT give burdock root to pregnant or breastfeeding dogs at all

-Do not give to dogs who may have imbalanced blood sugar levels or are diabetic as burdock root may lower blood sugar levels.

In that case, it is always safe to consult your vet.

But all in all, I can tell you that burdock root is one of the safest herbs to feed to your dog so get it right away and start your dog on it ASAP and you shall see positive difference in your dog's health very soon..:)
